Bow Crazy

  Pull your hair on the top of your head and form a bun. Leave a few inches of your ends in the front.

Gently separate your bun in two section and pull your ends around the divided section.

 Pin down any loose ends

Since we are always out and about, most of the items in our bags get along well with our lifestyles.  Both of these totes are perfect for traveling, amongst the above items we can also fit a small sweater and ipad. We both tend to keep several lip products for quick color changes and a compact for touch-ups.  The leopard bag holds several pairs of earrings, gold bangles and outfit changing necklaces for whatever situation that may require an outfit enhancer. The playing cards come in handy at parties, bars and even airports when we've exhausted ours eyes on the ipad.  Every girl should always have bobby pins handy, your never know when the weather is not going to allow you to keep your hair how you had originally planned.

Another week has escaped us and another month has started. We are already happily overwhelmed with this fall's upcoming weddings, parties and Mizzou football games {mostly tailgating}. We cannot wait to share with you what this fall has to offer. Happy fall, happy weekend!

DIY: Collars

One of our favorite current trends are collars as accessories.  They can be found at most stores nowadays, but we think it's more fun to add your own flair (and at a lower cost).  

What you'll need: An old shirt with a collar, a pair of scissors, and any other notions you would like to add.

What to do:

1. Pick your shirt. I like to find ones that are fairly stiff or ones that have interesting details; like the burgundy one from above with the gold button.

2.  Use your to scissors to cut from the bottom of the very top button all the way around the outer seam of the collar (the part where the collar is stitched to the shirt).

3. Start making your collar unique! I added lace to my collar but you can add pretty much anything you'd like.  Also, if you know how to sew, you can also use this as a pattern for the fabric of your choice.

Play around with different ideas, like adding studs or a brooch to give it your own unique look!

Caged

 A while ago, I saw a pair of Valentino studded cage platforms at Nordstrom.  They were a must-have (minus the hefty price tag they were sporting).  They were the kind of shoes you just don't  forget.  Alas, I was doing some shopping this past weekend and I stumbled upon a similar looking pair at Forever 21.  Of course this led to some other unnecessary shopping; you can't JUST buy shoes.  This entire look came from Forever 21 for under $60. It's the perfect outfit for a rehearsal dinner I will be attending this weekend for my brother's wedding.  It's simple, chic, and a little edgy.  Just my style.

Closet Space

Labor day weekend is always bittersweet. It's the end of another summer that as kids used to seem endless and the beginning of another season favorite, fall. This is the perfect time to reorganize closet space to make room for bulky knits, chords and capes.

Depending on the space you have to work with determines what you need to store away until next spring/summer. However, some of your warmer season pieces can stick around through fall with a few additions and updates.

Denim shorts: We adore them and hate to see them packed away. We like to transition ours with tights and booties.

Light and flowy fabrics, like chiffon or lace: These are often fabrics that people think they can only wear in summer and spring months. We add fall items like leather jackets, boots and rougher pieces that distract from the delicateness of the fabric.

Open-toed shoes: We say these should stay in your rotation all year. We love to pair ours with trouser or frilly socks and tights this time of year.

Dresses-  There's nothing a little layering won't fix.  Add a leather jacket to your closet, a great blazer, and some tall socks or tights. Play around with patterns and colors for bolder looks.
