Moscow Mules

While is Nashville a couple of weekends ago, one of our

very lovely hostesses introduced us to what would

become our new favorite cocktail; the Moscow Mule.

It is both delicious and refreshing. 

As soon as we arrived home we immediately jumped

on West Elm's website and ordered copper mugs 

{which we learned is a must when serving Moscow Mules}

 We decided to make it our specialty drink at the 

2nd annual Gatsby Party.

Needless to say, it was the party favorite.

Moscow Mules:

2 oz. of your favorite Vodka

1/2 oz. of lime juice

8 oz of Ginger Beer

add ice, stir and Enjoy!

heart-shaped cake

Our party planning, decorating and spontaneous kitchen 

dance parties got us a little preoccupied on Saturday evening

and taking pics slipped our minds. We managed to capture just

enough of one of our favorite recipes from the night, worthy of sharing with 

all of you!

 the heart-shaped cake:

To make the heart shape cake, we used a simple

Pilsbury Funfetti box cake mix.  Mix the cake as directed

on the box. To make your heart shape, you will need two pans;

a square pan and a circle pan.  Spread your mix evenly into your

two pans.  Bake as directed.  When your cakes are done,

let them cool for about 15 minutes.  Remove the cakes from the pans

on a large surface.  Cut your circle cake evenly down the middle.

add the two halves to two sides of your square (as seen above).

Then, you are ready for the icing on the cake!

Decorate as desired.

2nd annual Gatsby soiree

Last year's Great Gatsby themed bash was such a hit we have
decided to make it an annual gathering. This year it took place in our new
abode's basement complete with parlor games, old-fashions
and dancing. We are already counting down  for next year's celebration.

Start a Riot

After UK native, Jetta, was featured as itunes

Single of the Week a couple of weeks ago,  and we have become quite

drawn to her soulful hits of her EP album, Start a Riot.

We are very much looking forward to the release of her LP
