Runway Files: Spring/Summer Hair Faves

This spring, we have been scouring the Runway pages

of magazines for hair inpspiration. We are loving

the jazzed up ponytail look, especially for hotter days!

We've also been noticing a lot of amazing braids and 

our forever favorite, effortless waves with bold lips.

And of course, still on our bucketlist, pastel hair.

We love that this trend has been sticking around for a few

seasons. We can't get enough of it.

 We love to try out new hairstyles, and we are proud to say that we created this one all on our own.  We wanted to create a 'faux-hawk' look, but also wanted to put our own spin on it. We decided to twist it.... literally.  It works similaraly to the technique of a french braid.  You begin by twisting your hair at the top of your head inward.  As you continue to twist, grab other sections of your hair continuing all the way down to the nape your neck.  Pin where necessary and secure with an elastic. We can't wait to wear this hairstyle all summer and while at Bonnaroo.

Ah, sweet Spring/Summer weather is quickly approaching, and for us that means it's time to start thinking about festival fashion!  From the hair, to the clothes and the shoes, we have been cooking up some great DIYs including this fun twist on a fishtail braid. We love a good fishtail hair do, so we decided to glam it up a bit and add in some gold chains.

How to achieve this look:

First, we found some old necklace chains long enough to braid.  Next we took a small clear elastic rubber band and attached it to the clasp end of our  chains.  We then tied the rubber bands with the chains into a very small section of hair underneath.  Finally, we fish tail braided the hair.

Very easy, and you could use just about any material to tie into your hair and braid.  We think it would look great with some hair chalk too seen here.
