This weekend we had the honor of sitting front row at the GLOW: GO LOCAL St. Louis fashion week runway finale hosted by Laura Kathleen of Project Runway. Unique from other fashion weeks we've attended and followed, the show featured spring collections from local boutiques and fall collections from St. Louis' own designers. The mix was a refreshing and exciting way to look at what is current and what we have to look forward to.
Designer Paulie Gibson incorporated splashes of color in his menswear collection with classic patterns and 1970's shapes. Bold graphics and colors were what made Amy Johnson's collection stand out.. Lastly, Michael Drummond's "Exquisite Corpse" collection left us memorized. The color palette and unparalleled energy literally killed it: Tim Burton would have approved of the high-fashion "Nightmare Before Christmas" come-to-life collection.
Overall, we loved the combination of the high waisted pieces with crop tops, collars to hoods, racing strips, flowy silhouettes and strategic cut-outs.
Boutiques featured- 10denza, Blush and Devil City
