bright young things

The Bright Young Things, or Bright Young People, was a nickname given by the London tabloids in the 1920's to a group of young bohemian socialites . These Bright Young Things threw elaborate and fancy parties, went on elaborate treasure hunts through nighttime London, and drank heavily. They inspired a number of writers, including F. Scott Fitzgerald.  A title most fitting for the way our modern generation now lives.
Decidedly so, we were most definitely born in the completely wrong decade. How can we not feel that way with all the inspiring aspects of the roaring 20's?  The distinctive culture, Bright Young Things, art-deco era, and most importantly the fashion. We love it all.
"The Great Gatsby" is one of our favorite stories from this time. It's truly timeless. We were inspired to use the elements of this time period and the whimsy and romance of  "The Great Gatsby" for our themed birthday bash. We had been pulling images weeks before the party that captured the time period at its best: hair, dress, Art-Deco inspired jewelry, carefree attitudes and we tied these pieces into an homage to this prohibition period. With the upcoming movie we were also inspired to use modern elements as an unique and whimsical update to the everlasting classic.  Who says you can't repeat the past?  We do it every day <3
