Candied Apples

Today, we are re-sharing one of our favorite
Halloween recipies with these Red Candied Apples!

There is something equally creepy and beautiful
about a classic red candy apple; it's a little
 Snow White meets the Evil Queen
Here is our recipe to make the sweet and scary apples!

What you'll need:
6 apples {red delicious}
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. light corn syrup
3/4 c. water
parchment paper
butter or cooking spray
wooden sticks {small twigs}

How to make:

In a deep-bottomed sauce pan, mix the corn syrup,
 sugar and water. Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat,
then reduce to medium high heat. Insert a candy thermometer
 and let it boil until it reaches 300-310 degrees. While it's boiling,
line a baking sheet with greased parchment paper
(this makes the apples easier to remove).
Also, insert the wooden sticks into each apple about
halfway through. When the mixture reaches temperature, remove
from heat immediately. Dip and twirl apples in the mixture
covering completely. Work quickly before the sugar
 starts to harden. Transfer to baking sheet to cool.

Happy Halloween!
